kernel:BUG: soft lockup - CPU#5 stuck for 24s! [/usr/sbin/amavi:32636]
I would not blame amavis on errors starting with "kernel:BUG"

latest gentoo kernel is 4.6, are you able to test it not a kernel bug
with it ?

is /usr/sbin/amavi real filename ?

what kernel version is create this bug ?

whar distro are you using ?

what perl version ?

what version of amavisd-new ?

too many questions ....

many people run amavis on many machines. So far you are the only one with the
problem. How big is the chance you found a kernel bug related to amavis when
many people have been using amavis for a long time without any problems?

Prove your case! Prove it is an amavis bug or start debugging as requested in
previous mail.

I do not want to prove that there is a bug, I just ask the question whether
I am the only one.

If someone else has already seen the problem, it is on many of my machines

Everytime I have seen that error on linux guests it has been the esx server running out of resources or overallocating resources.

Sometimes its mysql throwing errors, sometimes its amavis and I have been on wild goose chases trying to troubleshoot issues with packages but it was the esx server the whole time.
